Job Summary

i.g. Burton is looking for an energetic and motivated individual to join our facilities team. In this role, you will be responsible for addressing common maintenance issues, performing minor repairs to building fixtures, replacing light bulbs, cleaning common areas and floors, and carrying out other miscellaneous tasks such as patching and painting. The Facilities worker will also be in charge of ground maintenance duties including trimming, mowing, picking up debris, and mulching.

 Duties/Essential Functions

- Perform various maintenance tasks for facilities, such as replacing light bulbs, vacuuming, mopping, and sweeping. Also, clean common areas, floors, and restrooms.

- Carry out minor repairs on building fixtures and equipment.

- Assemble, repair, maintain, and move furniture, including desks, cabinets, tables, chairs, shelves, and related fittings and fixtures.

- Set up and prepare for special events and needs.

- Conduct maintenance work such as painting and patching.

- Safely operate a forklift or scissor lift.

- Inspect facilities and grounds for safety and security; identify and report hazardous conditions and facility maintenance needs to the supervisor.

- Follow safe working practices and make appropriate use of related equipment.

- Perform custodial tasks and assist with pest control measures.

- Carry out ground maintenance, including trimming, mowing, debris pickup, and mulching. Blow and sweep sidewalks, parking lots, etc.

- Remove weeds and apply weed treatment as needed.

- Salt or plow in the event of inclement weather.

- Assist other facility employees in completing repairs and tasks.

- Perform any other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • 2 years relevant experience
  • Working on ladders and from heights
  • Working indoor/outdoor environment in all weather conditions
  • Bending, kneeling, standing, walking and crouching for extended periods
  • Valid state Driver’s License with clean driving record
  • The ability to lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.
  • Use of positive oral and written communication
  • Proper use and safe handling material/equipment used in custodian work
